| Resumo: | A preservação do patrimônio histórico no panorama atual é, por si só, um grande desafio. Pensá- la dentro do contexto nortista e interiorano da região amazônica é mais que desafio, é obrigação moral. Esse trabalho vem desnudar a história do sul do Pará, estado da região Norte do Brasil, expor dificuldades recorrentes na trajetória histórica, perceber a riqueza cultural subjugada e conduzir de maneira técnica a conservação de sítios urbanos históricos no contexto da pequena cidade; não os maquiando, mas lhes atribuindo funções sociais. Conceição do Araguaia, município paraense, cabe ao papel de amostra do imenso potencial turístico, econômico, social e educacional de antigas pequenas cidades, que rica em história e cultura, se enxerga mais uma vez esquecida. |
| Abstract: | The preservation of historical heritage in the current scenario is, in itself, a great challenge. Thinking about it within the northern and interior context of the Amazon region is more than a challenge; it is a moral obligation. This research lays bare the history of the south of Pará, a state in the North region of Brazil, exposes recurring difficulties in the historical trajectory, perceives the subjugated cultural richness and manage in a technical way to the conservation of historic urban sites in the context of the small town; not making them up, but attributing social functions to them. Conceição do Araguaia, a municipality in Pará, plays the role of a sample of the immense tourist, economic, social and educational potential of old small towns, which, rich in history and culture, are once again forgotten. |
