Cidades históricas de Monte do Carmo – TO e Natividade - TO e as festas religiosas

Abstract

The present work has as object of study to reflect on the potential of the historic cities of Monte do Carmo and Natividade, both municipalities in the State of Tocantins, in attracting visitors and gathering community faithful in religious festivities, already considered part of the local culture.The objective is to learn about the history of the two municipalities, their registration processes as historic cities and their religious festivities. It starts with a guiding question, in which the question is whether the cities of Monte do Carmo - TO and Natividade - TO have important religious festivals for their municipalities and for the State of Tocantins? As a hypothesis, it is believed that yes, because over the years there has been a continuity of celebrations from generation to generation and the growth each year in the cities.The work stands out from a bibliographical research and reports from people residing in the two cities mentioned.
