A presença da História Oral na construção da cultura quilombola: uma analíse a partir da roda de São Gonçalo da comunidade Lagoa da Pedra de Arraias-TO

Abstract

This work aimed to understand the limits and possibilities of oral history in preserving the tradition of the Roda de São Gonçalo in the construction of the cultural identity of the Lagoa da Pedra quilombola community. This study was developed through qualitative, bibliographic, documentary, field and participant observation research to collect information. The interview was carried out with 03 women from the community who participate in the Roda de São Gonçalo and are called “rodeiras”. Through the studies and research carried out, it was possible to understand how oral history contributes to the preservation of the tradition of the São Gonçalo wheel, as this cultural manifestation is strongly maintained by the oral tradition that helps in the construction of cultural identity. Finally, it can be observed that the interviewees want to maintain the tradition of the São Gonçalo circle in the community, so that it does not cease to exist, but it is necessary that young people in the community are interested in learning about the tradition, because women They get older and can't dance and in the absence of these ancestors it is necessary to have people to pass on this knowledge to future generations
