The present work aims to explore the Festa dos Bonecos de Taquaruçu, highlighting its cultural relevance and the challenges for its recognition as a local tradition. The Festa Tabokagrande, central to the documentary ‘Grito de Um Só’, explores the origin, evolution, and symbolic meanings of the festival, with a focus on the Galos de Palmas, giant puppets representing different regions of the capital of Tocantins. The documentary aims to broaden the understanding of the event, moving beyond the figure of its creator, Wertemberg Nunes, to emphasize the active role of the community and the influence of media and cultural policies in perpetuating the celebration. Through interviews with residents, researchers, and experts, the documentary offers diverse perspectives on the social and cultural impact of the festival. The event can be understood as an expression of folkcommunication, in which the community appropriates symbolic and cultural elements to create a collective narrative that strengthens its identity.
