Envelhecimento em família nas classes subalternas: manifestações de uma vida declinante e paupérie

Abstract

This study aims to discuss the poor social life of the elderly, highlighting their condition of subjects from the lower classes, lived in sociability together with the family. It is assumed that aging is a natural process that characterizes the life of every human being, but it becomes a great challenge when one has to offer quality of life for this social being, as provided for in the laws that support them, contained in in our Federal Constitution, in the National Policy for the Elderly and in the Elderly Statute, as a guarantee of rights already acquired by these citizens, in their aging process. This work aims to understand the social life of the elderly in capitalist sociability, in view of the aspects of information and clarification of the rights of the elderly and the need to live in healthy relationships with society and, mainly, in the family. The study was carried out through bibliographical and documental research, in a qualitative approach that privileges the description and interpretation of the investigated object. Thus, a survey, reading and review was carried out in books, magazines, articles and institutional public documents such as Laws, Decrees, Ordinances and others that were necessary to compose the framework of the collected data. The research results are present in the two approaches built in the scope of the monograph. The first result shows the conditions of social life that bourgeois/capitalist sociability offers to the elderly, according to the social class to which they belong. This approach points out the marks of aging and the social standards imposed on the elderly in antagonistic classes. The second result exposes an understanding of the social rights of the elderly maintained by the bourgeois State, its legal letters of organization of public social policies aimed at the elderly, with the exception of the family's foreseen attributions towards their elderly, legally foreseen in the policies of care for the elderly. At the end of the study, it is concluded that the maintenance of social rights to the elderly is essential for the healthy life of this subject in a declining moment of life and the support and monitoring of the family needs to be guaranteed in accordance with the guidelines of social policies. of care for the elderly.
