Pneumotórax por trauma torácico canino

Abstract

This report describes the activities carried out during the Supervised Curricular Internship. The internship was carried out at the Veterinary Hospital of the Faculty of Sciences of Tocantins in Araguaína-TO, under the guidance of Professor Ana Paula Gering and supervised by veterinarian Karlany Silva Souza. The same occurred in the period between August 14th and October 25th, 2023, with a daily workload of 8 hours, working 40 hours a week, totaling 400 hours. During this period, 173 animals were treated, of which 126 were treated in the medical clinic and 47 in the surgical clinic. The internship was carried out in the areas of Medical Clinic and Small Animal Surgical Clinic. This report contains a description of the internship location, the activities carried out and the cases followed during this period. Subsequently, a clinical case of traumatic pneumothorax in a male dog, 1 year and 2 months old, Pinscher breed, weighing 3.2 kg, monitored during the internship, is described.
