Abstract

The present paper aims to present an alternative proposal to the teachers when the absence of a Mathematics Teaching Laboratory, since we consider that the absence of a LEM in the schools, makes difficult the work of mathematics teachers, given that due to the importance of this space of construction of knowledge in teaching and learning Mathematics. Because we know that mathematical objects are of the order of the abstract and complex, so the need for a LEM, as well as the objects contained in it, can facilitate student learning. However, when there is no such resource in school? It is in this aspect that our work comes to bring contributions, in the aspect of supplying this need, we bring the proposal of making the Portable Laboratory for Teaching Mathematics (LAPEM), a box of manipulative material that will allow the teacher to make use of creativity and dialogue with his students, giving him a range of opportunities and new models of teaching mathematics. This type of material can be made by the teacher together with the students.
