Representações da mulher negra pela via do cinema.

Abstract

This monograph, presented to the course of graduation in Letters with qualification in Portuguese Language and its respective literatures, has as objective, to investigate representations of the black woman by means of the cinema. In addition to discussing the difficulties that black women face in society, addressing questions about gender and color prejudice, also addressing the historical process of black women in search of respect, acceptance and appreciation, as well as talk about cinema in education as a teaching-learning tool and generating cultural and historical information. This research is bibliographical and analyzes cinematographic works. The objects of the cinematographic analyzes of this work will be the films The color Purple and Precious. The results of this research shows us that the woman fought and still struggles to gain personal independence and respect in a still very sexist society.
