Evangelização E Solidariedade: O Aporte Católico Na Promoção Dos Direitos Humanos Das Crianças E Dos Adolescentes Na Arquidiocese De Palmas

Abstract

The present article sought to verify how the Catholic Apostolic Roman Church acts in the promotion of Human Rights in the childood and adolescence in the Archdiocese of Palmas. For that end, it was studied, initially, the existing relation between human rights and christianity, and it’s influence in the creation of human rights. The concept of children was analyzed beyond the definition of age present in the national and international law. The progress of the protection for the infants in the inside plain was discussed, becoming subjects of law, and on the outside plain. Other than that, Church’s documents that indicate its concern with the young and concrete attitude in their favor were specified. Thus, through search in official documents from the Church, literature, law, and interviews with leaderships of concrete actions in favor of kids and juvenile in the Archdiocese of Palmas, data was surveyed. It was concluded, therefore, that accordingly to the information obtained, the Catholic Church does work in favor of promoting the human rights of juveniles, in its role, in the Archdiocese of Palmas.
