| Abstract: | This work addresses the Folia de Reis in the Kalunga Community of Mimoso in the Municipality of Arraias, Tocantins, seeking to highlight what the local community has done to attract young people to the celebration, analyzing its historical, social, and symbolic importance. We also investigate the challenges faced in keeping a tradition alive and seek to understand that the Folia de Reis represents for the community much more than a religious celebration. It is a cultural, social, and spiritual pillar that reinforces collective identity within the community. Through bibliographic research and interviews with participants of the celebration, we emphasize how traditional communities, such as the Kalunga Community, preserve the practice by integrating it into cultural education and engaging young people. We conclude that the Folia de Reis transcends religious boundaries, serving as a link between past and present |
