Juventudes e luta pela terra no acampamento Padre Josimo: desafios e perspectivas

Abstract

This research aims to understand how the struggle for land and the organization of landless youth in the Padre Josimo camp take place and their relationship in the struggle to defend their territories. The specific objectives are: to learn about the experiences of youth organization in their territories, to understand the relationship between youth and the struggle for land in the Padre Josimo Camp. And also to analyze the socio-cultural dynamics taking place in the territory, from the point of view of young people. The methodology used was participatory research and interviews with six young people from the camp who make up the local collective. All were between 15 and 22 years old. We have chosen to use the names of the interviewees to keep the names of the interlocutors confidential. The results of the research indicated that the participation of young people in the process of fighting for land takes place in various ways. In the case of the seeds collective, young people are involved in the fight for land from childhood, when the families go to the camp, and consequently all the members go together. In the landless movement, there is an effort to integrate and organize all the people who live in each territory organized by the MST.
