Abstract

The understanding of mathematics is manifested in different discoveries, mechanisms, modes and interferences. However, it is a growing need to involve the student in the process of acquisition or construction of learning in an active and meaningful way. The process or teaching moments are far from just presenting formulas, rules, tricks or other mechanisms that can only make the learner reach satisfactory grades. This study about mathematical investigation reinforce the importance and helps the teachers to make teaching moments a form attractive, involving students and making mathematics an instrument to develop skills, awaken critical sense, in addition to building specific mathematics strategies and reasoning. The present study plans an investigation into Ball’s magic numbers, bringing together didactic alternatives, such as mathematical magic, with the aim enable students to construct their own conjectures, dynamically inserting them into the teaching and learning process and promoting greater interest and enchantment with mathematics, introducing or reinforcing important concepts. Still highlights a study of the approaches of the concepts referent to the BNCC, listing the skills and competencies referent to Elementary School II and High School.
