A formação de professores indígenas da Secretaria da Educação do Tocantins Seduc: intenção e resultados

Abstract

This work deals with the training of indigenous teachers developed by the Tocantins Department of Education - SEDUC. It analyzes the effects of the Indigenous Magisterium Training Course to broaden the understanding and performance of the educational practice of the teacher who teaches in the schools of the communities of the Funil do Povo Xerente Indigenous Area. This is a research based on the qualitative approach whose data were collected through bibliographic, documentary research and through the application of interviews with teachers and indigenous leaders. The investigation demonstrated that the Indigenous Magisterium Training Course was relevant from the point of view of improving identification with the teaching profession and its indigenous teaching practice, but needs to dialogue with the knowledge and practices built in the Xerente Indigenous community.
