| metadata.dc.description.resumo: | O texto apresenta resultados de estudo que objetiva compreender o movimento pendular realizado por estudantes de Carolina, no estado do Maranhão, em direção a Araguaína, no Tocantins, para acessar a educação superior. Essa pesquisa propôs analisar a realidade vivida por esses estudantes, verificando, desafios enfrentados e motivações para a busca da formação acadêmica. A metodologia adotada consistiu em uma revisão bibliográfica para embasar o estudo, utilizando dados censitários do Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE) como fonte secundária e a aplicação de questionários aos estudantes que realizam o deslocamento, utilizando o ônibus como local de pesquisa. Araguaína, como local de destino desses estudantes é uma cidade com melhor infraestrutura, mantendo a dinâmica que permite a busca pela educação superior. Os resultados revelaram informações sobre os estudantes, destacando os desafios enfrentados, como o deslocamento devido a distância percorrida, que ocasiona cansaço e distanciamento da família; perigos da estrada e travessia do rio Tocantins e gastos financeiros. Mostraram também motivações, como a formação acadêmica, e a busca por melhores condições de vida, como fatores que impulsionam esse movimento pendular. Apesar das dificuldades enfrentadas, o estudo mostra que o movimento pendular representa uma oportunidade para esses estudantes alcançarem formação acadêmica em nível superior. Ficou evidente a necessidade de políticas que possam oferecer suporte a esses estudantes durante sua formação acadêmica. |
| Abstract: | The text presents a study that arises from the interest in understanding the commuting movement of students from Carolina, in Maranhão, towards Araguaína, in Tocantins, to access higher education. This research aimed to analyze the reality experienced by these students, verifying the challenges faced and motivations for seeking academic training. The methodology adopted consists of a bibliographical review to support the study, using census data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) as a secondary source and the application of questionnaires to students during their commute, using the bus as a research location. Araguaína, as a destination for these students, is a city with better infrastructure, maintaining a dynamic that allows the search for higher education. The results revealed information about the students, highlighting the challenges faced, such as distance, financial difficulties and crossing the river, and motivations such as academic training, better living conditions and boosted this pendulum movement. Despite the difficulties faced, the study shows that pendulum movement represents a unique opportunity for these students to achieve their goals. The need for policies that can offer support to these students during their academic training became evident. |
