Erliquiose canina

Abstract

In this work, the activities monitored in the period of 51 days (03/07 to 05/16/2022) corresponding to the mandatory supervised curricular internship at the Espaço Animal Veterinary Clinic, located in the city of Palmas/TO, under the supervision of the Veterinary Matheus Alves da Silva, completing 390 hours of workload. During the learning period during the internship, several clinical and surgical cases from the small animal clinic were followed. Some cases are simpler and others more complex, both due to the pathology, the patient's health status, and the resources that differ between the tutor of each animal, for example, financial for the cost of activities. This course conclusion work aims to present the activities developed and monitored during the internship, such as consultation follow-up and percentage of attendances in each clinic, exams performed, and indexes of the types of clinical and surgical cases that were attended during the period, as well as to report a clinical case of Canine Ehrlichiosis, in a male, fertile, mixed breed dog, 2 years and 10 months old, weighing 19,250 kg, named Flip. From the clinical and laboratory manifestations, where thrombocytopenia and leukopenia were identified, and after carrying out a quick test it was diagnosed with canine ehrlichiosis, the treatment prescribed for the animal was chosen individually for the patient, in which it had a favorable prognosis and according to the tutor showed improvement in her clinical condition.
