metadata.dc.description.resumo: In this qualitative-documentary research we will analyze the approach of linguistic variation in textbooks, that is, we intend to know how is the treatment of this linguistic phenomenon through this material used in schools. For the accomplishment of this research we began to read theoretical texts referring to the themes to be discussed in the course of the work. To carry out the analysis we got some textbooks of elementary education borrowed from the teacher of the State School that I was intern, among all the books collected, what demonstrated approach our object of study was the 5th grade, it enabled a better improvement on the subject and allowed us to observe whether the treatment of this lexical unit (linguistic variation) is superficial, existent or even non-existent. Through this study we seek to investigate and problematize whether textbooks deal with the topic of linguistic variation and how it is exposed, since it is an important factor for teaching in the classroom, since it provides better recognition and appreciation of the language. We discuss about the devaluation of the linguistic variation, being that through the same can be awakened several sociocultural aspects. This analysis aims to understand the proposal of the textbook of the 5th grade when it presents the linguistic variation, being through the texts, activities, so that through this we can present possibilities of theoretical or practical improvement in the educational environment, moreover, we seek to emphasize the valorization.
