Abstract: The objective of this work was to evaluate the negative interference caused by competition and allelopathic effect of weed species on soybean (Glicyne max L.). The experiment was conducted at the Federal University of Tocantins at Gurupi-TO University Campus, with 11 ° 43 'south latitude and 49 ° 04' east longitude, at 280 m altitude. The work consisted of two experiments in randomized block design with 4 replications and 10 treatments, the first with nine weed species in intercropping with soybean and one control kept in the clean, and the other experiment, the plant residues of same nine weed species and a control with no plant residue in soybean. Plant height data were analyzed at 30 and 60 days after emergence, first pod height, leaf area, dry matter, pod number per plant and soybean crop yield. The results showed that all weed species had a deleterious effect on the variables analyzed for soybean, when compared to the control, varying in different intensities between species. When weed effect of weeds on soybean plants was observed, it was concluded that there were no significant differences between treatments for the parameters analyzed.
